NORML UK Medical Campaign Team is dedicated to raising awareness and creating a path towards evidence based legislation which would protect medicinal cannabis consumers and growers. We will do this with support from various national and international organisations whist developing and building a support network for medical cannabis consumers here in the UK.

Cannabis has a wide variety of established therapeutic health benefits and for many patients; cannabis is the only effective long term treatment for their condition(s). We believe that the scientific evidence that proves cannabis is a medicine, to be indisputable, with evidence published in numerous medical journals and that as such consumption for medical therapeutic benefits should be respected by society and recognised in law & legislation.
We believe in patient choice, the autonomy of doctors and that herbal cannabis should be a legal and respected medical treatment.
We aim to:
- Promote the therapeutic uses and health benefits of consuming herbal cannabis as a medicine.
- Campaign for tolerance, decriminalisation and then legalisation of the right to consume herbal cannabis as therapeutic medicine
- Support patients defending their right to consume herbal cannabis as therapeutic medicine.
We will do this by:
- Compiling and publishing testimonials along with the already published medical research to help inform other patients, professionals and people in the legal system that may use it for case references.
- Providing non-legal advice regarding cannabis and signposting for patients and medical professionals.
- Working with medical professionals to remove the stigma attached to the consuming of cannabis as an effective medical treatment. We will make them aware of the benefits and safety of cannabis as a medicine and make recently published information more available to them.
- To produce a range of multimedia resource materials to engage the public and raise awareness levels about medical consumption of cannabis and the positive effects it has on consumer’s lives.
- To encourage dialogue between patients consuming cannabis medically and their doctors/specialists and help them with information and support.
