Medical Cannabis Patient Survey

A survey by NORML UK Medical Campaign Team to find medical cannabis success stories for use in educational leaflets, on our website and to be used anonymously as anecdotal evidence by people defending cannabis related charges in court. At the end of the survey there are questions designed to seek your permission on how the data you supply can be used. All answers will be treated in the strictest confidence, and nothing identifying individuals will be published without their prior consent.

Please indicate for how long you have had your symptoms, and how long you have been using cannabis as medicine.   In your own words describe which medical condition or conditions you consume cannabis for?

How effective do you find cannabis when treating your symptoms?

If you consume for pain relief, what is your pain score before and after using cannabis? (out of a possible 10). Please state before and after scores.  

How do you usually consume medical cannabis? Joint refers to a hand rolled cannabis cigarette in this context.











Which different methods have you previously tried to consume cannabis?










Would you consider changing your current methods of consumption to reduce any potential harm your current method/s could be causing?





How may different strains of cannabis have you tried? What different effects have you found between strains?

Please explain a little about the pharmaceutical or conventional treatments for your condition or symptoms.

Would it be beneficial if you had access to a range of different cannabis strains? If so, why?  

How often do you consume cannabis?
How much cannabis you consume during the course of a day, week or month? Please state approximate daily, weekly or monthly quantity in grams and which time frame it applies to. Is this cannabis in herbal form, hashish or cannabis oil?

How does prohibition effect your medical cannabis consumption?

Can you afford to purchase sufficient cannabis to meet your medical needs?

How does having to buy cannabis for medicine, impact on the quality of the rest of your life?

How does it make you feel, to be automatically regarded as a criminal, despite having a strong medical case for your cannabis consumption?  

How has being made to feel like a criminal affected your overall health and self esteem?  

Do you have the support of your GP and other health care professionals around your consumption of cannabis as medicine? Have you discussed this with them? Do you have any letters from doctors supporting your consumption of cannabis as medicine?  

What would it mean to you, to get the laws surrounding prohibition of cannabis repealed? Do you think you would enjoy a better quality of life?
