Hi everyone! My name's James and I'm a 19 year old recreational user.

I first tried smoking when I was 16 and I've been smoking daily for about 9 months now. Although I'm lucky enough to be in good health, I have researched and understand the medicinal qualities of cannabis and would like to think that it would be available to me, if I ever require it.

I find it amazingly ridiculous that there are so many prescription drugs with horrible side effects that are legal and encouraged yet one of, if not the most, natural medicines of all is still illegal.

Hi everyone

My name is Ayla and I am a medical cannabis user, or I would be if I could find a decent supply sigh.

Cannabis should definitely be legal in the UK, it has so many benefits and is a great help to so many people. Plus its totally hypocritical how its legal in other countries, and the government/pharmacutical companies grow their own to make ultra expensive 'legal' medicine.

Anyway, excuse my grumpy mood, am not feeling great, hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and Happy New Year to all. <img class="spSmiley colorbox-manual" title="thumbsupsmileyanim" onclick="spjEdInsertSmiley('thumbsupsmileyanim.gif', 'thumbsupsmileyanim', 'https://norml-uk.org/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/', '');" alt="thumbsupsmileyanim" src="https://norml-uk.org/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/thumbsupsmileyanim.gif" />

HI EVERYONE! my name is mark am from wales(not a sheep shagger ha ha),am pleased to be onboard too, im new to forums but not new to natures finest!

Due to falling off roof 19 december 2005 at work before hit the floor i heard ridge tiles i was carrying smash entered the tunnell with light at the end and at that point the light was getting brighter after what felt 20 seconds then i went back down the tunnel away from the light after what felt like total darkness. As i gained conciousnes i never felt so much pain all over my body in my life my right wrist was limp (multple fractures) that all what was holdin my right hand on was skin, dislocated right shoulder ,broken pelvis dislocated right hip nightmares etc.

Due to me disabilities i suffered after fall could not work anymore (carpenter/groundworker)i struggled to cope even on medicatoin it made feel worse, being a farther of four healthy children my partner at the time had to work to keep a roof over our heads which caused extreme hard ship in the family food etc. 12 months later The final nail in the coffin 18 and a half year relationships gone aswell which still breaks my heart today when i think back .

Due to the events medicine i was prescribed it made me angry and aggresive after 10 months it was comming to the point i couldnt control my self i felt thoughts of suicide ,depression etc. what happened when a freind came round changed my life forever that day it was if all my pain had dissapeared and i feel like im living again after eating chocolate brownies! no more bad thoughts at all. so i told my doctor cannabis helps me more than the medacation ever did can you perscribe me it she staired at me said you know its illegal mark it will make you paranoid if you want help take medication im offerring (thought to myself not them again..…that doctors med does nothing only effects you somewhere else?) to admit defeat and take them hold on i wanna help myself not jump off a bridge etc.(maybe doctors dont have enough time to do research ……..?)

Im a lot happier painfree person when im self medicating with cannabis thats the reason im still here! These days depending on strain depends how long you are pain free(it ranges from 1 hour right through to several hours) so eating dope cakes, bong hits(water pipe) etc all work . CBD more body buzz, THC for more high so you could see which strain is best for your needs medicinaly.

It beats me how these ignorant people say cannabis does not benefit us in any way when im living proof it does more than help with no side effects whatsoever so its about time they done their reserch about canabinoids etc and start to help us like jesus was supposed to of done cured / helped people of all mankind young and old .So i want be able to medicate my self without being classed as a criminal for pain relieving my body im not being brainwashed anymore i will not wither either i fight for reform etc cause im human , i know the truth about natures finest is the reason im still here after all, if i new then what i know now maybe maam would still be here too!

so thats me thanks for reading keep the good work up all

AND THANKS TO NORML UK

PEACE OUT !!!!!!!!!!

Hi pcm and welcome, your point is, on its own, good enough reason to legalise cannabis. I think instead of legalising only for meds it should just be de criminalised full stop. The high i get is not why i use medicinal cannabis i use for an illness, the highs a right bonus. I agree with your thinking…. Sickness can bum us all I'd like a nice 420 take on prescription drugs AND recreational allowances, beats pubs.PeacePCM said
Hi everyone, I'm Paul.

Recreational user, I do use medically but not for any long term condition, just headaches, occasional insomnia etc. I would regularly use medicinally for anxiety if I had any level of control over the strain I got hold of, but as we all know, prohibition makes this unnecessarily difficult and I have to put up with any old shite that I can get.

I joined Norml-UK a few months ago but have since changed address, could one of you let me know how I can change this with you guys please?

Peace,

Paul

I am an Ian. I come from the Southwest and have been using cannabis in various forms for 17 years.

I have a congenital severe hearing loss, and started to suffer massive anxiety, insomnia and depression during my teens. I was also hyperactive, now re-named ADHD. I don't know if my hearing loss caused the mental problems, but being born with something which means you can't socialize in anything but one-to-one situations in small, quiet rooms doesn't exactly help. It means I am isolated, and living in a small town in the middle of nowhere makes it worse.

Because of my mental problems I have been prescribed various drugs, many of which caused far more damage than good. I started smoking hash out of curiosity and it was love at first toke. I was severely depressed at the time and told myself beforehand that this would not be a regular thing, because I actually believed the media and government line. I was certain that I was taking a huge risk of making my mental health issues worse. I didn't stick to that plan though, and soon I was smoking fairly large amounts every night.

It was clear to me early on that cannabis was notexacerbating my mental problems. In fact, it was helping! My depression lifted, I felt far less anxiety, I slept like a baby, and all the racing thoughts and impulsiveness were calming down. Though I loved and still do love getting stoned, the positive effects seemed to an effect of using cannabis regularly last thing at night for at least a week. It was sort of cumulative, if that makes sense?

I joined NORML UK because I believe people should have the choice to use cannabis, both medically and recreationally, and I think the odds are in our favour. I'm hoping I'm not imagining things when I sense that now more than ever people aren't being fatalistic and are wanting to get involved actively to keep the momentum going.

Also, on a personal level, the older I get, the more friends I lose touch with and - thanks to prohibition - I am denied the one thing which helps the most and allows me to progress and live a much more normal (no pun intended!) life. And don't even get me started on synthetics. Now the one or two times I manage to medicate myself, I can no longer be sure what I'm vaping hasn't been sprayed with that evil stuff. Even if it is the real deal, I have no idea what it really is and what the THC/CBD ratio is. Again - all because of a totally immoral, illogical and in the case of me and so many others, utterly cruel prohibition.

Hi All,

I mentioned something about Cannabis Law in the UK to someone on YT yesta who said he'd send the info to NORML UK. In case he didn't, here's the info…

Many people think that Cannabis in the UK is Class B. People working in the News, Parliament, Home Office, Police Stations and Courts, (namely, reporters/MPs/PM/Home Secretary/Police Officers/Judges) repeat the mantra "Cannabis is a Class B drug".

Obviously, Cannabis is not a drug, it's a plant, but that's not the news here, just the first of their propaganda wording tricks.

I would like to direct you all to the 2007/8 Bill that was brought in by the then Home Secretary Terresa May. The Bill is called, "Drugs (Reclassification) Bill 2007/8" and can be found on the Home Office's own website, after a google search of "uk drugs classification 2007".

As you will see for yourself, the Bill is only currently at stage C of the House of Commons review (for some reason they went from the first part to the third, skipping over the need for a second "reading") and has not passed through the House of Commons, nor through the House of Lords, nor been given Royal Assent, thusly, NOT a Law.

In short, Cannabis has not yet been reclassified as being Class B yet. It remains Class C. Believe it or not!

But hey, don't take my word for it, go look for yourself. The link is as follows…

http://services.parliament.uk/…..ation.html

If there's some other Bill to reclassify Cannabis in the UK, then I am not aware of it.

On that note, I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Thanks. Sorry for the wall of text.

One thing I'd like to add is that it would be nice if so many things weren't only Facebook based. I don't know about anyone else, but I gave up on Facebook and moved to Google+ ages ago and my FB account has been purged of everything so reactivating was pretty pointless.

Anyway, I'm really thrilled that NORML UK has risen from all that depressing business that I've been reading about on other forums and that it's happening at a time when things seem to be going the right way. I hope the momentum continues and I'm willing to get involved however I can in trying to spread the truth about cannabis into the wider public consciousness.

Oh, and I got my badge and band yesterday.

Hey Guys,

I'm fairly new on the scene even though I've been smoking for years!

I finally decided to start standing up and making a noise about the ridiculous laws we have in this country in the hope of making a change!

The club I run, the Cambridgeshire Cannabis Club it's part of the UKCSC who you already know of, so I hope to meet some of you at some point in the non too distant future!

Just a member of the forum for now, but am saving up for the full on membership as I like the look of the t-shirts!

Peace. Out.

James from Essex area, 26 and a medicinal user for six months now. I was on massive doses of Morphine before I finally found the plant had medicinal value and had already lost five years of my life to disability. Now I am trying to educate people in this as I would hate the next 21 year old like me to loose five years of their life due to not having knowledge of green.

Life is but a door, death is but a window... I'll be back!

hey all im chris i live in leeds im 31 years of age been smoking since my teens mostly recreational bk then but diagnosed with sciatica at the age of 19 and since have used cannabis as a painkiller (beats the pharmaceuticals any day) have tried my hand at growing my own and got busted with 4 plants received a caution i believe that the cannabis on the street today is of very bad quality and the uk cannabis market needs regulating more now than ever i personally dont have access to anyone that can get properly grown properly flushed properly dried cannabis and am forced to buy from a dealer the police have made it quite clear to me i can not grow my own not even for my personal use for medicinal reasons so until the law changes this is the situation im stuck with unfortunatly

i am pleased to be a member of this forum and look forward to talking to like minded people about the way that the quality of cannabis and its legislation is going here in the uk

Hey Hey all,

I'm the warrior for change. I've been smoking for about 6 years since i was medically discharged from the army, originally i was put on opiate medication and aside for being whacked oot ma tree ALL the time they where ridiculously addictive so i wrapped them up pretty quickly. it was about that time that one of my friends offered me what would become my very first 8th… oh the memories!! lol and from that night on my mind was made up the wonder plat is the only medicine for me.

I've joined up on the forums for here and my local cannabis social clubs, as it is my belief that there are our way forward. the more we can get together in our groups and exchange/create new ideas then the more we can share with our brothers in different clubs. it wasn't a "political party"? that established the medical system in Cali it wasn't a political party that freed the weed in Colorado or Washington it was large numbers of groups of people (social clubs) and the one and only norml. so lets unite with the one thing they cant beat….. OUR VOICES!!!!!!
