On the 6th of December NORML UK and UKCSC will be hosting a trip in conjunction with Travelholics.co.uk. The destination: Amsterdam. Arguably the European Mecca of the cannabis connoisseur.
A luxury coach will be travelling across the UK to collect the willing group of travel hungry individuals before boarding a cross channel ferry and making the 25 mile crossing of the Strait of Dover. Disembarking in Calais, the coach will then continue on the 227 mile journey where it and its occupants will arrive at the final destination of Amsterdam in the Dutch province of Noord Holland.
The travelling ‘strain hunters’ will be accommodated in the STAYOK hostels in Zeeburg and Vondelpark. Both hostels meet excellent standards and provide services such as; free Wi-Fi, bike rental, security safe’s, and a cafe-bar. A free breakfast is included in the cost of the trip. The hostels are also wheel-chair friendly with excellent access. (www.stayokay.com)
Amsterdam in December provides its occupants with a warm, comforting atmosphere and picturesque scenery worthy of any artists’ canvas. The streets and canals will be buzzing with Christmas trade and lit up with a million fuzzy lights making it a scene to remember, and a feast for the senses.
To make the most of the time in Amsterdam, an interesting array of activities have been arranged and all travellers are invited to take part.
On Friday the whole group will be invited to the Dampkring coffee-shop where the travelling posse have the chance to relax and get to know each other. After all, there is going to be lots of people to meet.
Once acquainted, an optional visit to the cannabis college has been arranged should you want to brush up on your knowledge of one of Earth’s most unique and useful annual fruiting herbs. Here you can learn about safe medicinal and recreational use of cannabis, many uses of the hemp plant and they also observe their very own organic garden.
Saturday is the day to explore the beautiful city of Amsterdam and to see what treasures you can find hidden away in this hazey winter wonderland. With plenty to see and much to do; there is no better place to get lost and see what you can find.
There will also be another opportunity to visit the cannabis college for those who missed out on Friday. Also group optional visit to the Hash, Marihuana & Hemp Museum with a special guided tour (20% discount €7.20) is available.
Before heading back to the UK on Sunday afternoon there will be plenty of time for some more exploration, and the option to join an educational cruise of the canals of wintery Amsterdam. This will provide the opportunity to learn some of the impressive history of the city, or you may choose to just sit back and enjoy the scenery!
The coach will arrive back late Sunday night full of tired but happy travellers, host of newly acquainted friends, and some truly unforgettable memories.
